1. Download and install Epson Product Setup onto your computer from here. Epson Product Setup will walk you through the scanner setup process and install Epson Fastfoto, the software you will use to operate the scanner.
Tip: On the Epson website, make sure you correctly select the operating system that your computer is using. If you are not sure what version of Windows you are running, Select the Start button > Settings > System > About. To find out which operating system version your Mac is running, click the apple icon in the top left and select ‘About This Mac’
2. Whilst the software is installing, remove the scanner from the box; please keep the foam for when you return the scanner. Connect the scanner to mains power using the included power cable.Tip: We recommend using the USB cable over WIFI to connect your computer to the scanner.
3. Using the USB cable, connect the scanner to your computer. If your computer only has USB-C we’ve included an adapter.
4. Once the software has completed installing, it will take you through a process of steps to check the scanner is correctly connected. Before scanning, please restart your computer.
5. If not already open, launch the Fastfoto software.
6. Insert your photos into the feed tray facing you with the top edge first, adjust the holders to the appropriate width to support the photos. Press start scanning in the software to scan the photos.
7. Click Settings on the top right to adjust scan settings and set the folder where the scans are being saved to.
Tip: Remove any dust from photos prior to scanning, regularly check scans on the computer.
For fragile photographs, a scanning sleeve can be optionally added to your order after making a booking for an additional £5, please just reply to your booking confirmation email.

All images are saved as JPEG format.
Make sure your photos are completely flat, if they are not, leave them in a heavy book for a while. If this still does not clear the problem please contact us.
If you have another scanner or printer connected to your computer via cable or WIFI, please disconnect it. Get in touch with us if you are still experiencing problems.
This really depends on how dusty or sticky your photos are, we recommend you both regularly check the scanned images and open the scanner at least every 1000 photos to check the scanning surface is clean. There is a link above to view the video cleaning tutorial.
Inside the Epson Fastfoto Software, please click the setting icon in the top right to open settings, then click Scan Settings where you can change the resolution.

Yes, you can scan a range of single or double-sided documents, to do this you need to download a separate piece of software from Epson's website called ScanSmart. Follow this link.

After scanning lots of photos at high speed your computer needs to process them into viewable files, unfortunately with older computers this may take a little longer. If you have the auto enhance feature enabled processing time will be slightly longer.
